FANCY STITCH COIN PURSE
by Vicki Runnegar
Fancy stitch; all machines come with it, but what is it for? It sits there tantalizing us with the promise machine embroidered fanciness but in all of my years of sewing I can’t for the life of me remember putting it to good use…. until now that is.
In this tutorial you can turn a piece of plain fabric into a unique fancified coin purse. This project is a good for beginners, there a couple of tricky bits but nothing you can’t handle.
I have used a solid blue chambray for the feature fabric with a contrast of brightly coloured fancy stitch. I think you could get some great results by playing around with the colour palette and pattern selection. Lets get started.
What you need:
Solid feature fabric: 34cm x 13cm
Lining fabric: 34cm x 13cm
*Lightweight fusible interfacing: 34cm x 13cm
15cm zip
Cotton thread in various colours,
Wool Yarn
3 wooden beads
